Kudos Proudly Supports Women in Charity Retail Event
Sharing ideas and experiences so more of us can make more of a difference to people’s lives
Kudos Software was proud to support the 2021 Charity Retail Association event, Women in Charity Retail.
The CRA online event was the first of its kind and part of International Women’s Day 2021. This year’s theme encouraged everyone to choose to challenge themselves because a challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change.
A panel of inspirational female leaders from charity retail included, Debbie Boylen, Head of Retail for Scope, Deborah Gould, Director of Retail & Trading for Rennie Grove Hospice Care, Allison Swaine-Hughes, Retail Director for British Heart Foundation and Sarah Dodd, Managing Director, Kudos Software.
The event had 140 subscribers and the experienced panel led an engaging conversation. The discussion highlighted the challenges and celebrated the successes that the panel had experienced during their careers. Some of the key themes were:

The event concluded with a brief look to the future of charity retail. All participants agreed that charity technology will be crucial, with online trading and training of growing importance. The panel agreed that there are opportunities to tell stories of charity retail recovery to build confidence in the sector. It will also be important for charities and reuse organisations to position themselves as a sustainable alternative, for greater economic and social impact and to continue to raise money for brilliant causes.
